ChinesePod is a subscription service that was created in 2005 to help people learn Mandarin Chinese, a language that has gained a lot of popularity in the last decade.
Since it first became available, ChinesePod has had over 1,000,000 people sign up to learn this notoriously difficult language from them. I started using it back in 2007, and I’ve seen quality and consistent Chinese language material being produced by them ever since.
It has a lot going for it. Besides offering full access to over 3500 audio lessons (and most recently video-based lessons as well), it also adds to these lessons daily with content spanning from newbie to advanced levels.
They Provide A Lot of Features
- Unlimited access to 3500+ situational lessons
- Full lesson transcripts
- Full mobile apps (iOS and Android)
- Personal vocabulary lists and exercises
- Ability to study on your computer, tablet, or mobile phone
- New lessons added daily
- All levels from newbie to advanced
- Ability to connect with thousands of ChinesePod users in the online community
No boring textbooks. No boring teachers.
The teachers in this course are really great. They make learning Chinese fun and interesting and really know their stuff when it comes to the intricacies of the language.
They don’t teach you stiff textbook phrases or only focus on boring grammar rules. You get the real-life Chinese that you’d hear spoken on the street. They also really do a great job of teaching you the basics if you’re a beginner, and their lessons for advanced learners are at a level that not a lot of other Chinese courses can or will offer.
So give it a try. You’ll probably be glad you did, and they let you cancel your subscription at any time if you find things aren’t working out for some reason.
PS: If you want to get an annual premium subscription instead of the basic monthly subscription, try using the code FTLOL to save $50.
